Philippines Customer Orders 40 Ton 3-Axle Flatbed Semi Trailers
September 14, 2026
Project Summary
A mid-sized container logistics company based in Manila confirmed an initial order for customized ROADKING 40 ton 3-axle heavy-duty flatbed semi trailers.
The trailers will transport 20ft and 40ft shipping containers, industrial equipment, steel and project cargo between major ports, container yards and industrial zones across the Philippines.
The project focuses on chassis strength, container compatibility, stable heavy-load performance and convenient long-term maintenance.

Customer Background and Purchasing Requirements
The customer operates approximately 30 to 50 tractors and semi trailers across Manila, Cebu, Davao, Subic, Clark and other major logistics areas.
Its services include container transportation, port transfers, inland logistics, container-yard operations and project cargo transportation.
As part of its fleet renewal program, the company needed to replace older trailers that were affecting transport efficiency and increasing maintenance requirements. The customer was particularly concerned about chassis reliability when transporting heavily loaded containers.
The customer’s main operating routes include:
- Manila Port to Calamba, Bataan and Subic industrial zones
- Cebu Port to Mactan Island, Bohol and Negros
- Davao Port to Surigao del Sur, Cotabato and other Mindanao industrial areas
These routes combine busy port operations, frequent turning and reversing, urban traffic, industrial roads and sections of uneven provincial pavement.

Why the Customer Selected a 3-Axle Flatbed Semi Trailer
The customer needed one trailer design that could transport different container sizes while also handling industrial equipment and project cargo.
ROADKING recommended a 3-axle heavy-duty flatbed semi trailer with a rated loading capacity of 40 tons. The three-axle configuration helps distribute the operating load and provides stable performance during frequent port transfers and inland transportation.
The 12,400 mm platform is equipped with 12 sets of heavy-duty container twist locks, allowing the operator to secure both 20ft and 40ft standard shipping containers.
When containers are not being transported, the reinforced flatbed platform can also carry selected industrial equipment, steel products and other heavy cargo.

Reinforced Chassis for 40 Ton Cargo Transport
The main concern for the customer was whether the trailer could maintain structural stability during frequent heavy-load operations.
The ROADKING chassis uses T700 high-strength steel. Its reinforced main beam has a height of 500 mm, with a 16 mm upper plate, 10 mm middle plate and 18 mm lower plate.
This structure improves resistance to bending and deformation when transporting loaded containers, industrial equipment and steel cargo.
The chassis also uses reinforced cross members and strengthened connection areas around the suspension, landing gear, kingpin and container twist locks.
Configuration for Philippine Port and Road Conditions
Philippine port operations involve frequent low-speed turns, reversing, braking and repeated loading and unloading. Some inland routes also include uneven provincial roads and congested industrial areas.
For this project, ROADKING selected heavy-duty mechanical suspension for its load-bearing strength, durability and ease of maintenance under demanding road conditions.
The trailer is fitted with 12R22.5 Triangle tires and 9.00 x 22.5 heavy-duty steel rims. The 90 x 16 mm, 10-piece leaf springs provide additional support for regular 40-ton cargo operations.
Compatibility with 20ft and 40ft Containers
The 12,400 mm flatbed platform is suitable for transporting both 20ft and 40ft standard shipping containers.
Twelve sets of heavy-duty twist locks provide multiple securing positions and reliable container fixation during port and highway transportation.
When transporting steel, machinery or other non-container cargo, the reinforced front board and appropriate chains, straps, stoppers or customized securing points can be used according to the cargo type.
JOST Kingpin and Landing Gear
The trailer uses a JOST #50 2-inch bolt-in kingpin selected for compatibility with commonly used tractor fifth wheels. The bolt-in design also simplifies inspection and replacement during long-term maintenance.
A JOST 28-ton two-speed landing gear system provides stable trailer support during uncoupling, loading and parking.
Production and Quality Inspection
After confirmation of the final technical specification, ROADKING’s production and inspection process covers:
- T700 steel and component verification
- Main beam fabrication and chassis assembly
- Cross-member and local reinforcement installation
- Welding and dimensional inspection
- Axle, mechanical suspension and leaf-spring installation
- JOST kingpin and landing-gear installation
- Container twist-lock positioning
- Brake and electrical-system testing
- Surface preparation and powder coating
- Final inspection against the approved specification
Before shipment, the completed trailers will be checked for overall dimensions, chassis alignment, weld quality, suspension installation, twist-lock positions, braking performance, electrical connections, tire specifications, accessories and surface finish.
Planned Fleet Deployment in the Philippines
The trailers are intended for deployment across the customer’s Philippine logistics network.
In Luzon, they will support container transfers between Manila Port, Calamba, Bataan, Subic and Clark.
In the Visayas, the trailers can be used for cargo operations connecting Cebu Port with Mactan Island, Bohol and Negros.
In Mindanao, they will support transportation between Davao Port and industrial destinations in Surigao del Sur, Cotabato and surrounding areas.
The final production schedule, shipping terms and estimated arrival date will be implemented according to the confirmed sales contract.
After-Sales and Spare-Parts Support
ROADKING provides the manufacturing, inspection and export documents specified in the sales contract, together with operation guidance and remote technical assistance.
A recommended spare-parts list can be prepared according to the final axle, suspension, braking, tire, kingpin and landing-gear configurations.
ROADKING also provides replacement-parts identification and supply support, helping the customer reduce maintenance delays and vehicle downtime.
