Mali Customer Purchases a 45CBM 4-Axle Fuel Tanker Trailer
September 9, 2026
Project Summary
A customer serving the West African petroleum market purchased a customized 45CBM four-axle fuel tanker trailer from SHANDONG ROADKING VEHICLE CO., LTD.
The carbon steel tanker will be used for petrol and diesel transportation, primarily in Mali. The planned delivery route is through the Port of Abidjan in Cote d’Ivoire, followed by inland transportation to Bamako.
This is the customer’s first ROADKING tanker. Additional units may be considered after the customer evaluates the manufacturing quality, operating performance, documentation and after-sales support.

Customer Background and Purchasing Requirements
The customer operates in the West African fuel transportation and distribution sector, with business covering Mali, Cote d’Ivoire and nearby markets.
Because Mali is landlocked, the customer required a delivery solution combining ocean freight to Abidjan with onward transportation to Bamako. Long-distance operation also made braking reliability, chassis strength and spare-parts availability important purchasing considerations.
The customer required a 45,000-liter carbon steel tanker capable of carrying petrol and diesel in separate compartments. Other priorities included WABCO braking components, API discharge valves, emergency shut-off equipment, technical documentation and third-party inspection options.

Why the Customer Selected a Five-Compartment Tanker
ROADKING configured the tank with five separate compartments. This design allows the operator to separate fuel products or organize deliveries for different customers and destinations.
Each compartment is equipped with an aluminum alloy tank cover, a 4-inch API discharge valve and a pneumatic emergency valve.
The tanker also includes two 4-inch, six-meter discharge hoses. The final operating procedure and hose arrangement should follow the approved technical documentation.

The technical capacity of each axle does not determine the legally permitted payload. Final payload, axle load and gross vehicle weight must comply with the regulations applicable in the countries where the tanker will operate.
Tank and Chassis Configuration
The tank body is manufactured from Q355B carbon steel, using 5 mm plates for the main body and 6 mm plates for the end sections.
The four-axle chassis uses Lingyue 13-ton axles, 70-type mechanical suspension and eight sets of standard 10-leaf springs. Sixteen 12R22.5 tires are mounted on 9.0 x 22.5 steel rims.
This configuration was selected to support stable load distribution during long-distance fuel transportation. Actual payload must be determined after confirming the completed trailer’s tare weight and applicable road limits.
WABCO Braking and Fuel Discharge Equipment
The purchased trailer includes WABCO ABS and a WABCO relay valve. Its braking system uses six double brake chambers, two single brake chambers and manual slack adjusters.
The unloading system consists of five 4-inch aluminum alloy API discharge valves. Five pneumatic emergency valves allow the operator to shut off fuel flow during an emergency.
The confirmed specification includes ABS, not EBS. Any additional braking or safety equipment must be recorded in a revised technical agreement before production.
Production and Inspection Process
The manufacturing process covers material verification, tank fabrication, compartment installation, chassis assembly, welding inspection and installation of the braking and unloading systems.
Before shipment, the completed unit should be checked against the approved specification. The inspection should cover overall dimensions and tank volume, material and plate thickness, weld appearance and tank tightness, compartment separation, valve and pipeline operation, emergency-valve function, ABS and braking performance, chassis components, lighting and standard accessories.
If the customer requests SGS pre-shipment inspection, the inspection scope, cost, date and acceptance criteria should be agreed upon before the final inspection.
Delivery Through Abidjan to Bamako
The planned logistics route uses the Port of Abidjan as the ocean-freight destination, followed by inland transportation to Bamako.
The final delivery arrangement should clearly identify responsibility for inland freight, customs transit procedures, import duties, taxes, insurance, border documentation and unloading.
Production completion, loading and estimated arrival dates should be added to this case study after they are confirmed.
Compliance and After-Sales Support
ROADKING provides the manufacturing, inspection and export documents specified in the sales contract, together with technical support for customs clearance, registration and compliance review in Mali.
For after-sales service, ROADKING provides maintenance guidance, remote technical assistance and spare-parts support for key components, including WABCO braking parts, valves, seals, suspension parts, hoses and pipeline fittings.
